For a long time I’ve been wanting Emma to take piano but have been waiting for her to want to do it. Practicing piano is hard enough when you WANT to do it. Well, Emma has been BEGGING for guitar lessons the past few weeks. So we signed her up. She’s ECSTATIC. And I have to say, she looks mighty good with a guitar.

I loved it when my son was taking guitar lessons…he was getting pretty good before we moved, and we haven’t been able to talk him into doing it since we’ve been here.
How long did he take lessons?
She looks great with a guitar! Maybe her love of music will lead to the piano at some point, too

As the parent of a child who started with acoustic lessons and then moved on to electric, my advice to you is EARPLUGS. I’m sure Emma will love her lessons but you will hear the same section of the same song until you want to hide the guitar! Also, as she gets more advanced you will find that the lessons get more and more expensive. I pay $50 an hour for Matthew’s lessons (which he LOVES so it’s worth it but…)

I’m loving the sound of the acoustic, even when she’s just strumming randomly but I’m sure the electric guitar would be a little much.
