Trash the Dress

I don’t know why I’m in a wedding mood.  Maybe it’s because my two cousins are getting married within a month of each other.  But this is a PSA of sorts.  I heard about this Trash the Dress in a blog this morning and I was confused and then intrigued.  It certainly has not made its way to South Carolina yet and I thought I should share.

Basically what happens is a bride (and groom, possibly) trash the wedding dress by taking photos in water, on train tracks or in mud.  I really wish I’d known about these because I certainly can not fit in my wedding dress right now.  Look how gorgeous some of these turn out:

I have heard about this! The pictures are great!

  2. Those are AMAZING shots. I've never heard about that, but I'm glad I came across this post. My husband and I got married at the courthouse, no dress or anything like that. We plan to renew our vows and have a ceremony on our 13th wedding anniversary (the year I graduate law school) and I am SO interested in having photos taken like these! Thanks for sharing them. They are gorgeous…

I've actually been considering doing this with my dress with jeff as the photographer … if you want to do it with me it would be so much fun! I'm with you on the dress fitting thing – my sister wore my dress after me and had it altered to fit her and she was tiiiiny then so I haven't even tried mine on. But I'm sure we could make them work somehow if you want to!

It seems like some areas of the country it's really big. Around the St Louis area here, there are a few that do it, but it's not too common.
